I gather from AKMA that today is Fair Use Day.

I thought I would point out Bound By Law, a comic book put out by Duke University to promote understanding of copyright and fair use. In the comic, our heroine is trapped by a struggle she didn't understand. By day a filmmaker…By night, she fought for FAIR USE!

It's a clever concept and nicely executed. Be sure to check out Lawrence Lessig as the Statue of Liberty. You can download the comic for free, or order a hard copy like I did as prop for my new book. (Thanks to Jeff Ward for pointing out this book, and for writing about his own recent experiences with copyright and fair use.)

Here's Zoƫ contemplating the nuances of copyright and fair use.

Nice pointer; I visited the Duke site, meaning to just give it a glance, and got wrapped up in it (up to page 21 — don't tell me how it ends. ;))

I was referred to your blog by Susan Kitchens of http://www.2020hindsight.org/. Really interesting stuff. I'm new to STL myself and writing about it in my blog. I'm enjoying your blog while I listen to Echo & the Bunnymen. Rock on.

Melinda, no worry, no spoilers from me!

Aaron, thanks for dropping me a comment and welcome to St. Lou. I hope you're keeping cool this summer.
