I had planned on an outing today to walk some of my favorite spots, but the weather started dreary so I refrained. It's a good thing, because a dam broke and flooded the area with a wall of water 20 feet high where I planned on walking today.

It's a good thing it happened as early as it did. I hope you don't hear of other injuries later on. Amazing.

Susan, amen to that. I feel sorry for the Ranger and his family, but if the weather was better, and it happened later, more people would have been injured, or even killed.

Dear God, Shelley, we just read the news about the dam going! Glad you're safely with us. Would have been a heck of a photoshoot, though. Just kidding. Talk about dodging a bullet…

I'm so glad you stayed away today.

No worries. This happened at 5 in the morning. If I had gone, I would have met a muddy road, police, and a lot of worried folks.

But this has devastated one of the most beautiful hiking and wilderness areas in the state. It must have taken out much of the Ozarks trail.
