This will be my last post in this weblog, as I begin my site re-architecting. You'll continue to see this page until I'm ready to make a cut over to the new configuration.

My main Burningbird page will become more of a portal to the rest of my site, with entries from all of my domains and sub-domains reflected in this main page. I won't be using a weblog or any other dynamic runtime tool, as these can play havoc with tools installed in subdomains. I'll most likely be using some form of static aggregation tool, like the one (Venus) I currently use for my feeds.

I'll be keeping some of the old Burningbird weblog pages, but not all. Most no longer make sense–inside jokes and conversations from seven years ago age badly over time. True, if a page has been linked, that link will eventually return a 404 (or 410, for "gone"), but it's unlikely anyone will click on the old links. If they do, I'll see if I can't provide them something interesting to see. At a minimum, the web is a living thing, and living things change over time.

Burningbird goes on, but Burningbird as a weblog had its time and now it's time for me, and my site, to also change. My many thanks to all those who have spent time with me at this weblog in the past. You've made my life richer, my weblog better.
