Crossed Emails

I’ve had three crossed email incidents in the last two days. In case you’re wondering, crossed email is when you send an email and the person you’re sending it to sends you an incoming email at the exact same time. Unless you’re in a furious exchange of emails, this is pretty rare.

You know what crossed emails mean, don’t ya? Every time you exchange simultaneous emails with another person, an evil email spammer goes to hell.

Really! I’m not making this up! I received the instructions when I answered the following email:

Moved offline because original was taking up too much room.

Vote on the Bloggies — the weblogging awards. People do this for free; least we can do is tell them we like ’em.

During the awards voting period, visit your favorite weblogs (nominated or not) and drop a note in the comments about how much you like the weblog, and how much you appreciate what the weblog is providing. Or drop the weblogger an email. Provide them with your very own personal Bloggie — a brief note of thanks. A quick note just to say “Hi. I’m here. I appreciate what you do.”

I know my life is richer thanks to the weblogs you see to the left and elsewhere on the web. Least I can do is spread that wealth around a bit.

Folks to the left, I’m on my way!

<edit> Mike Sanders of Keep Trying took this all a step further back during the interesting Scripting News Awards early days. He created a do it yourself awards system, with associated humorous results.

Now, darn it, I’m going to have to add another weblog to my Plutonians list, and I just had it nicely rearranged — Mike, you’ve got my award for man with the best sense of perspective!</edit>

What a great idea — a blog index. Now you can look under ‘B’, and find me! And a whole lot of other weblogs that start with ‘B’. Nicely done! Wait until all them Blogger blogs start pinging weblogs.com. Then we’ll see some real action!

Blog indexes. Blogstickers. Blog/Google games. Awards. A Blogging Lexicon. Are we heading over the edge? If so, how far will we fall? And will we have a fun time falling? Life’s mysteries.

Thanks to TX Meryl for tip. And she got it through Gary, who got it through the ether. Gary gets a lot of things through the ether. Come to think of it, so does TX Meryl.

Criminally Cute

When BurningBird takes a walk on cute side, she doesn’t screw around.

Is there some form of criminal offense to put something this absolutely terminally cute on the internet?

I thought my hamster in the pink dress was cute earlier, but this…don’t view if cute makes your toes curl.

(Actually, I thought some of it bordered on the scary myself.)

I was having so much fun with Googlewhacking today that I didn’t realize until tonight that I called David Weinberger, JOJO the Blog Faced Boy.

My apologies.

Ahem. Ladies, Gentlemen, the correct nom de plume for Mr. Weinberger is JOHO — the Blog Faced Boy.

Mr. Weinberger is of course free to mangle burningbird as he sees fit – verbally, of course.
