At the recent NATO Summit, Trump went all in on the crazy.
He demanded Greenland, again. He chastised Spain. He called Iranians scum and said the cease fire was over. He promised to bomb every bridge and every water desalination plant in Iran—both of which are war crimes. And during an interview with Ukraine’s Zelenskyy, he kept calling him “President Putin”, which was nothing when he also blamed the “Islamic Republic of Japan” for shooting missiles.
When Trump is back home, he’ll spend most of his time posting AI videos on Truth Social and talking about Reflection Pond vandals and their box cutters, when he’s not out stealing money from US taxpayers, and redesigning a public golf course.
Trump is not fit to serve as President. Even the most obsessed MAGA cult member must be realizing this. It’s a sure thing that Republican congressional members realize this. Yet they do nothing. If anything, they indulge his fits and fantasies, leading Trump to even more outrageous actions.
And that’s the point…
I’m not into prediction markets, which are nothing more than legalized gambling. But if I were into prediction market betting, my one big bet this year is that Congressional and other Republican leaders will force Trump from office after the midterms, and install Vance in as President.
Think about it. The Republicans still need Trump for the midterms because he’s red meat to a disconcerting number of reliable Republican votes. However, after the midterm election, the red meat turns to dead meat. Trump then becomes a major liability to the Republican party.
The obvious solution is to give Trump an ultimatum and an out. Tell him they’ll impeach him or have him declared incompetent to continue and have him removed from office ala 25th Amendment. Or he can voluntarily resign and tell the American people he’s doing so because of his health.
Perhaps they’ll throw in a promise of his face plastered on Mount Rushmore, or some other shiny gilded toy to sooth his malignant narcissistic ego, but force him out, they will.
And then here comes Vance. Vance, who has been spending most of his time wooing the Trump MAGA members, while trying to portray a level of ‘normalcy’ and ‘restraint’ that Trump doesn’t exhibit. Of course, he has the personality and charisma of a dead blowfish…but by next year, any semblance of normalcy will be fallen on like a single water bottle after a summer marathon.
All Vance has to do is stop this idiotic war with Iran, counter some of Trump’s more outrageous actions—not difficult to do when you consider how many there are— and pretend to be the adult in the room and this, combined with now having served as President for two years, gives Vance a stronger chance to win a re-election in 2028.
If Trump continues as President until the bitter end, Vance’s chance for President will evaporate like ICE on a hot tin roof, and so will Republican chances for most federal and even state offices.
Trump will be toxic.
So there you go, my one and only prediction for the year: Trump out, Vance in after midterms. Feel free to put your money on this in whatever prediction market you prefer. Just don’t come crying to me if you lose your bucks, because my prediction is based on there being some intelligence still left in the Republican party.
And this isn’t a sure thing.
