Look at this post and see if you can figure out why I'm pissed. Seventeen webloggers quoted and not a single woman.

It's bad enough to be filtered out of techmeme, and hence most of the weblogging discussion, on a subject I've written about for six years but to turn to this item and see 17 men, and not one woman…

I think at times of restarting Burningbird because at least then I wouldn't be filtered out of techmeme–if lack of rank is the reason I'm filtered. I have that option, but what about the other women who can't seem to break through the glass ranks? Techmeme filters on Technorati rank and this is based on links and men link to each other and not women, and the cycle continues and we can't stop it. Not only that, but I don't even see that people think this is a problem–as long as the tech super-studs show up with some pretty babe on each arm, women are represented. Right?

The issue, isn't one of links or page rank. It's one of respect, and I don't see we women getting respect. Oh, one or two are pointed out, now and again–especially if they're likable or easy on the ego. For most of us, though, we live in shadows.

I was going to, in defiance, in a grand gesture, list my posts that had an impact here, but obviously, nothing I have done in all of these years has had an impact.
